Personal Statement: I believe one of my roles in life is to help patients understand their health problems and through education and direction, help them find solutions to live their lives with dignity and the best possible outcome for them.
Hobbies: Reading and running
Why this project is important to me: Knowledge is power. Patients need information and education in order to make informed decisions that are appropriate for their circumstances and lives. Unfortunately, in the rushed pace of physician appointments, there is not always adequate time to give the patient the information they need in order to make these decisions. To many times noncompliance is associated with not understanding. This is why this project is important to me. With the unique needs and important decisions these nephrology patients have to make, it gives me the opportunity to fill in the gaps and arm them with the education and information they need for the best possible outcome for them.
