Personal Statement:
I have worked for Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition (MARC) for 14 years; currently I serve as the Outreach Coordinator. As the Outreach Coordinator I work with dialysis facility staff, nephrologists, representatives from CMS, and patients to improve the quality of care delivered to dialysis patients. Prior to serving as the Outreach Coordinator I developed and implemented quality improvement projects for dialysis facility staff to improve vascular access rates, increase vaccinations, and decrease infections. Some of the most rewarding work I’ve done while at MARC is including patients as team members and helping dialysis facility staff do the same.
Hobbies/Interests:
Entertaining, cheering on the Washington Nationals, spending time with family and friends
Why this project is important to me:
Opportunity to improve the lives of patients with kidney disease and better prepare them to make informed decisions as their disease progresses. Having patients and their family members as co-investigators is the icing on top!
